awleeson Katie's voice is warm, rich and human. Her writing is similarly accessible yet profound, and guitar is her anchor and counterpoint. For those who think and feel, there is an educated Muse in Katie.

Mark French We've loved Katie's music since first hearing tracks from her 'Good Morning Sky' EP on Black Dog Radio. Weather Beaten is a great album too. Katie's live performances are always captivating, whether in a concert hall at the John Martyn Tribute at Celtic Connections, a converted church, a crowded pub or (our favourite) a house concert. Listening to 'Live at Acoustic Roots' is a chance to enjoy Katie's live sound at home. Favorite track: Shannon Road (Live).

keith holt Katie’s music is sublime, recordings are great, personally I love the live gigs, she stuns audiences with her guitar playing and stunning vocals. She’s a must see artist who has so much to give to music. Shannon Road is a stand out performance for me.

And I count every third tree on my way to school I wonder if you ever did the same As I wash my hands in the morning I wonder if you’re doing the same And sometimes I smile when I realise that we’re Breathing the same air And we’re drinking the same water All the while, never mind I just hope That you’re thinking of your daughter And sometimes I call myself a fool And I wonder if you ever did the same Because I think too much without forewarning And I’m wondering if you’re doing the same now And sometime I smile when I realise that we’re Breathing the same air And we’re drinking the same water All the while, never mind I just hope That you’re thinking of your daughter And most the time hey I do fine, as a rule I wonder if you ever did the same And I’m giving you a whole load of love now spring is dawning And I’m wondering if you’re doing the same now

Plain clothes police are breathing Down the necks of those who are creeping And I’m driving away From Saturday night And I’m going past the top of your street again tonight The streetlights are flickering on and off On and off, on and off It’s the Shannon Road silent disco La do da daa, la do da daa Someone is burning his old wardrobe on the green And all the kids are laughing Barefooted on the grass And the cold is coming in It’s September again The streetlights are flickering on and off On and off, on and off It’s the Shannon Road silent disco La do da daa, la do da daa You’re not here anymore, you’re not here anymore And all the apples on the tree on the garden that was yours Are all falling to the floor Because you’re not here anymore And the streetlights are still flickering on and off On and off, on and off

Hello sun, it’s been so long Lately I’ve been spending time With a good friend of mine His name’s the darkness Hello sun, wouldn’t it be nice To spend some time together Wouldn’t it be nice, hey Hello sun, it’s been so long It’s May Day April showers cannot fool us, anymore Hello sun, wouldn’t it be nice To spend some time together Wouldn’t it be nice, hey Hello sun, look what you’ve done Darkness has run He’s been wordlessly watching, quietly waiting For your rise Hello sun, look what you’re done Wouldn’t it be nice to spend some time together again

When I’m so locked up inside myself So locked up, I can’t breathe And the best I can muster is just “good” “Yeah, I’m good” Oh I wonder where I’d if, if you hadn’t If you hadn’t found me Born as a child unnamed to a family with no care Small as a doll, skin as white as the moon - on a cloudless night Oh you showed me the path and said: “Hey girl, choose it for yourself” OK so you gave me a roof, and you kept my old clothes Most of all you let me be who I was And it’s true, And it’s true, I wouldn’t be me without you Saying your names makes my eyes speak volumes Makes me turn my ship around and sail back Oh you stood by my side when I questioned Who I was and Who I was and Where they were Oh I wonder where I’d be if you hadn’t If you hadn’t found me
